The contact lenses in question are called the Acuvue Moist Multifocal and will available from July 2015 (yes folks, we got a sneak peek).

Designed specifically for patients with presbyopia – or age-related long sight – the new lenses aim to deal with the various issues associated with this inevitable middle-aged condition (sigh).

Not being able to read stuff close up (your eyes’ lenses become less flexible over time) and dry, irritable eyes (tear volume decreases with age) are classic symptoms of presbyopia. The good news is that the new lens aims to overcome these problems thanks to their unique optical elements.

Before being allowed to trial the lenses on you, our lovely patients, we had to attend a one-day intensive training course at Johnson & Johnson’s HQ in Reading. As well as getting the low-down on all the technical qualities of the new multifocal lenses, Amar was shown how to fit them and to get the very best results out of them.

So, now that we’re Acuvue Moist Multifocal experts, why not come and try them for yourself. Just imagine, no more holding restaurant menus at arm’s length or struggling to read the fine print on that almost-no-calories-at-all packet of biscuits…
